Fundraise for UpCycle

Looking for your next challenge? Become an UpCycle Fundraising Star!

Whether cycling halfway around the world or running a 10k, we’d love for you to use your adventure to support our work in prisons and the community.

The money you raise will support our trainees in the prison workshops to learn new skills that will contribute to their rehabilitation and the vulnerable groups we support in our community workshops. The refurbished bikes and wheelchairs from the workshops will also benefit many more groups and individuals.

It’s not just physical challenges you can use to support us! You could organise a quiz night, a coffee morning and cake sale, or even a sponsored silence, and turn all that fun into something which also gives back to the community.

We are a small charity and don’t have a massive amount of physical resources available. Still, we do have bags of enthusiasm to support whatever wonderful fundraising ideas you come up with.

Whatever your ideas are, please get in touch, and together, we can make the most out of your fundraising plans.

Organise a bike drive

One vanload of 30 bikes will provide enough work for the workshop trainees for approximately one month. Our community and prison workshops need regular deliveries of bikes that our trainees can refurbish.

We collect bikes from the police, household waste recycling centres, bike shops, universities, individuals and other charitable organisations. Schools have organised bike collections on our behalf as part of their general charitable support or as a Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteering project. We are also lucky to have the ongoing support of several Rotary Clubs, who organise regular collections in their local area.

However, we do need a lot of bikes to keep all our workshops supplied all year round and are always looking for new sources of unwanted bikes.

If your workplace, school club or group would be interested in organising a bike collection for us, then please get in touch. We have lots of experience in collecting bikes and organising collections and can provide you with lots of support and helpful tips to make your collection a success.

If you have one or two bikes you would like to donate but don’t want to organise a collection, then check out how to Give A Bike as an individual.
